• FTD Research Roundtable  - a collaborative, precompetitive forum where biopharmaceutical companies engage with academia, government agencies, and advocacy groups to enhance FTD clinical trial outcomes.

• Holloway Summit - an annual meeting of experts dedicated to exploring a specific topic to advance FTD research.

The AFTD reserves a small budget for emergent sponsorship requests from external organizations for research-related events. If interested in requesting sponsorship, contact research@theaftd.org as early as possible in the funding year (July-July).

Furthering Science 

• FTD Research Roundtable 
  The FTD Research Roundtable is a pre-competitive membership-based consortium where stakeholders from industry, academia, national and international regulatory agencies, and advocacy organizations convene to identify barriers, solutions, and best practices in FTD-focused drug development. 
• Grant Funding Opportunities 
  AFTD funds research from basic science to translational and clinical research. Organizations are eligible for funding from AFTD partnerships with the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation, for mission-focused investments in preclinical drug discovery and early-stage clinical trials.  

Enabling Clinical Trials 

• Research Engagement Services 
  Companies working to develop therapies can partner with AFTD to learn more about the lived experience from those affected by FTD through initiatives such as learning sessions, focus groups, and advisory panels.  
• FTD Disorders Registry 
  An affiliated non-profit co-founded by AFTD and the Bluefield Project, the FTD Disorders Registry serves as a direct-to-participant resource for study recruitment and quantified self-report data on FTD disorders. The Registry also empowers people to make informed decisions about research participation. AFTD and the Registry work in partnership to utilize qualitative and quantitative patient experience data to inform research design and regulatory decision-making and can customize qualitative and quantitative data to answer questions about community values, priorities, and concerns of people directly impacted by FTD.
