Eight-Year-Old Dallas Girl Raising Money to Support AFTD with Weekend Workouts

For an eight-year-old in Dallas, a summer fitness bootcamp of her own creation has become a way to raise money to support AFTD’s mission and raise money for crucial FTD research.

Caroline Cary, who founded C-Dog’s Front Yard Bootcamp after team sports were canceled due to COVID-19, hopes the Saturday morning workouts will help to keep both herself and other kids in the neighborhood active. She plans to continue the weekend tradition for the foreseeable future, or at least while Saturday-morning team sports are on hold, her mom, Julianne Cary, told a local NBC affiliate.

Caroline, whose grandmother has FTD, has decided to donate a portion of the proceeds raised from selling t-shirts for the boot camp to support AFTD’s mission. She hopes the contribution will help to advance research into finding a cure for the disease.

“I want to do this, so I can help doctors find a cure,” Caroline told NBC.
