Pave the Path Forward to End FTD with a Year-End Gift

Year End Giving 2025_FBLI

Since AFTD was founded in 2002 by Helen-Ann Comstock with her personal gift of $1,000, our work has been powered by the dedication of volunteers, donors, and all those we serve.

Together, we share one vision: a world with compassionate care, effective support, and a future free of FTD.

Every gift โ€” no matter the amount โ€” makes a lasting difference. Your support fuels programs like our Comstock Grants, HelpLine, and volunteer-led support groups, while advancing research that brings us closer to timely diagnosis and effective treatments.

As 2025 draws to a close, there are many ways you can make an impact and bring help and hope to families facing FTD today and in the years to come.

Other Ways to Give

  • Gifts in Tribute
Honor a loved one by making a year-end gift in their name. Use our secure form or create a tribute page to invite family and friends to join you.
  • Monthly Donation
Become a Sustainer of Hope! Your monthly gift โ€“ of any amount – provides steady support for families and fuels AFTDโ€™s mission all year long. Visit the “support AFTD’s mission” page and select โ€œMonthlyโ€.
  • Matching Gift
Want to make your gift go even further? Many employers match charitable donations! After donating, use the Double the Donation tool or check with your companyโ€™s HR department.
  • Gifts of Stock and Mutual Funds
Donating stock or mutual funds is a simple, impactful way to support AFTDโ€™s work โ€“ and it may offer tax benefits if completed before December 31. Learn more about donating these securities on the Ways to Give web page.
  • Donor-Advised Funds (DAF)
Giving through your DAF is an easy and meaningful way to help people affected by FTD. You can give directly through our DAF Direct tool or ask your financial advisor how to recommend a gift to AFTD.
  • Qualified Charitable Distribution
If youโ€™re 70 1/2 or older, you can make a tax-free gift to AFTD directly through your IRA. Talk with your financial advisor to see how a QCD can help you make an impact.

You can choose to have your gift go where itโ€™s needed most or direct it to the area that matters most to you โ€” Advocacy, Caregiver Respite, Drug Discovery, Quality of Life for People with FTD, Research, or Support.

If you have any questions about ways to give, weโ€™d love to hear from you โ€“ reach our Development team at development@theaftd.org or 866-507-7222, option #3.

Tax Law Changes

Recent tax law changes may affect how charitable donations are deducted, as standard deductions will shift for the 2026 tax year. Every donorโ€™s situation is unique, and some may want to consider adjusting 2025 year-end giving before the changes take effect.

We recommend consulting your financial or tax advisor to see how these changes apply to you. For general guidance, you can also visit the IRS website.
