2025 AFTD Holloway Postdoctoral Fellowships

Funded solely by the AFTD Holloway Family Fund
Takumi Nakamura, MD, PhD, postdoctoral fellow at Washington University in St. Louis, is assessing how measurements of types of tau protein in the spinal fluid may be used as biomarkers for early detection of FTD.
Chang Liu, PhD, postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University, is studying how a type of chemical modification to RNA interacts with TDP-43 protein dysfunction in FTD, with the goal of uncovering new treatment strategies.

Funded by the AFTD Holloway Family Fund and the American Brain Foundation, in collaboration with the American Academy of Neurology
Janani Parameswaran, PhD, instructor at Emory University, is studying the role of TMEM106B fibrils and how they might contribute to neurodegeneration and cognitive decline.
