Geraldine “Geri” Hall, PhD, a longtime associate of AFTD and a well-established voice in the field of neurodegenerative disease care, died on November 10 at 76.

For years, Dr. Hall lent her expertise to AFTD’s work, as an advisor for our resource for healthcare professionals, Partners in FTD Care, a frequent contributor to AFTD’s closed Facebook group, and a recurring presence at AFTD’s annual Education Conferences.

Dr. Hall was born in Hackensack, New Jersey in 1946, to James and Irene Richards. She earned her nursing and bachelor’s degrees at Temple University, later earning a master’s degree and PhD at the University of Iowa.

Over the course of her career, Dr. Hall authored or co-authored dozens of articles, and presented on neurodegenerative disease at conferences. Dr. Hall also presented for organizations such as the President’s Council on Bioethics.

In addition to her association with AFTD, Dr. Hall was a member of many professional organizations in the field of medicine.

Dr. Hall’s generous contributions to AFTD’s work were invaluable, and she will be missed. We extend our sympathy to her family and friends.
