Do you have an idea for an event not covered by one of our three branded campaigns? Then an Independent Event is the way to go! It’s a great way to raise both awareness and much needed funds any time of the year-all while adding your own personal touch. AFTD supports community members like you by helping them plan and execute successful events from their own imaginations.

How to Get Started:
- Complete AFTD’s Independent Event Policy & Proposal form.
- Attend a virtual meeting with a member of AFTD's Events Department to discuss your idea/plan.
- Create your event page on Classy, an easy-to-use online fundraising platform, which allows you to create a webpage dedicated to your event. If you are doing a golf tournament, here are some tips!
- Customize your fundraising page with this checklist.
- Spread the word with the onion method!
- Promote your fundraiser on social media.
