Texas Family Raises FTD Awareness at 2021 BMW Dallas Marathon

Dallas Marathon

More than 17,000 participants competed in the 50th anniversary of the BMW Dallas Marathon, and for some participants, it was a chance to raise FTD awareness.

Among the runners who participated in the weekend-long event, which took place Dec. 10 through Dec. 12, was the Ryan family. They ran on behalf of their late loved one, Kevin Ryan, who was diagnosed with FTD in 2018. The family wore matching shirts with the awareness messages of “End FTD” displayed on the front and “The Fight is Never Over Until It’s Cured” displayed on the back of the shirt.

“It feels amazing just bringing awareness to the cause, making people more aware of [FTD] and hopefully finding a cure,” Ryan’s daughter, Taylor, told the CBS affiliate in Dallas.
