After AFTD Board Chair Gail Andersen introduces attendees to the AFTD Education Conference, Amy Shives, a member of AFTD’s ThinkTank for persons diagnosed, provides the official welcome. Immediately following is the first session of the day, which presents the latest developments in our understanding of FTD.

Perspectives on Research

Working to advance FTD research is one of the core aspects of AFTD’s mission. This session offers perspectives from everyone involved in research, from persons diagnosed and their care partners to the researchers who interact with them and those involved in analyzing the acquired data.

Perspectives on Care and Support

Conference Keynote Address: Martha Madison

Actor Martha Madison (Days of Our Lives) talks about her mother, Barbara, diagnosed with bvFTD in 2008 at age 56, and how she and her family have found help and shared hope in the intervening years.
