#FromHopeToAction: AFTD’s 2022 Annual Report

AR2022-Cover

AFTD’s 2022 Annual Report documents progress made bringing hope to action in each area of our mission (research, advocacy, awareness, education and support) during the fiscal year starting July 1, 2021 and ending June 30, 2022 — and throughout the first 20 years of AFTD’s existence.

“AFTD Founder Helen-Ann Comstock held hope that families living with FTD could have more resources and information than she did when her husband was diagnosed in the late 1970s,” AFTD Board Chair David Pfeifer writes in the Annual Report’s introductory letter.

“In the two decades since, AFTD has cultivated a community of creative and dedicated volunteers, healthcare professionals, and FTD-focused researchers, all contributing to a growing understanding that not all dementia is Alzheimer’s, and that together, we can treat and cure FTD,” he continues. “I hold on deeply to the hope for a future day when families no longer need to worry about this disease. I believe we can get there together, through dedicated action.”
