Dallas Family with FTD Profiled in NBC Report

NBCDFW Anderson family

A family impacted by FTD is the focus of a new report aired by an NBC-affiliate in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

In a segment that emphasizes hope for the future, reporter Bianca Castro talks with Scott Anderson and his wife Beth, a 48-year-old mother who was diagnosed with FTD in 2018. The report raises FTD awareness in sharing Beth’s story and the impact of her diagnosis on Scott and their two young daughters, Ava and Allie.

“It’s kind of like how she used to take care of us. Now we are taking care of her,” Ava says in the video.

The report also includes a conversation with Dr. Brendan Kelley, professor of neurology at UT Southwestern, about advancements in FTD research that could lead to future treatments.
