First Round of FTD Therapeutics Fell Short, But Many More Are Up and Running

At the 10th International Conference on Frontotemporal Dementias, held August 31 to September 2 in Munich, speakers presented results from three clinical trials. Though conference attendees were disappointed in the initial results, their overall outlook was hopeful. “Now that we know the major pathways involved in frontotemporal lobar degeneration, we know what to target and what to look for in trials,” said conference co-organizer Manuela Neumann of the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE).
