Webinar: The Role of Occupational Therapy in FTD Care

December 16, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm EST

December Webinar WEB

What is occupational therapy, and how can it best support individuals and families living with FTD? For many of us, quality of life often means participating in the daily activities that we enjoy and bring us meaning and purpose. Occupational therapists are especially skilled at evaluating and addressing functional challenges from a person-centered perspective to enable those with FTD to continue to participate actively and safely. This AFTD Educational Webinar will define occupational therapy (OT), differentiate it from physical therapy (PT), and provide practical real-life examples of the benefits of OT for a person with FTD.

Maureen O’Neil Brown, MS, OTR/L of Cognitive Concierge, a nationwide virtual health and wellness company, will discuss the impact of OT in comprehensive FTD care for healthcare professionals and families, and suggest ways to access OT care in the community.

Learning outcomes:

  • The learner will be able to differentiate occupational therapy from physical therapy.
  • The learner will be able to describe at least three examples of OT interventions that can benefit a person with FTD.
  • The learner will be able to identify two ways to investigate or initiate OT care in the community.

Register here. If you are unable to watch the webinar as it streams live, the presentation will be recorded and archived on our website within one week of broadcast. (Click here to view our entire catalog of Educational Webinars.)
