Research is at the heart of hope for patients with any rare disorder. As scientists discover the causes of disease and apply that knowledge to the development of treatments and a cure they create a brighter future. But research requires the collaboration of many different individuals, including scientists, funders, and study volunteers.
Promoting research is central to AFTD’s mission. We envision our organization at the hub of the wheel that is driving research forward: providing information, funding grants, enhancing communication and coordinating efforts among those invested in conquering the frontotemporal degeneration.
We invite you to spend some time on these pages to gain a better understanding of how the Association is promoting research, our current knowledge of these disorders, and the people and efforts necessary to drive research forward. And we invite your participation, whether through funding a grant, contributing to drug discovery, applying for a grant, participating in a clinical trial, or deciding to participate in brain donation. Every one of us has an important role to play in changing the future of FTD.
