Rural Memory Clinic Uses Technology to Serve Families in Remote Areas of Saskatchewan

Health care professionals from the University of Seskatchewan offer a rural memory clinic for follow-up visits of FTD patients and their caregivers who live in remote places in the province. The medical team also focuses on creating support services for FTD caregivers. Dr. Megan O’Connell, Assistant Professor of Psychology, provided insight into the program during an interview with the Leader Post.

Teleconference Support Group for Care Partners of People with Younger-Onset Dementia

The Alzheimer Society of Manitoba is offering a teleconference support group. Group members must be caring for someone under the age of 65 with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia. This could be a tremendously valuable resource for people caring for someone with FTD in the region.
